OVERVIEW
Conran Design Group is a global brand and design consultancy within the Havas network, with offices in London, Mumbai, New York, and Paris. While the global brand provides consistency across markets, each office has the opportunity to shape its own personality and culture.
Role: Lead Illustrator
The Challenge
In New York, the team sought a way to develop its identity, celebrate local culture, and create visual assets that felt distinctly representative of the city. The challenge was to expand on the global brand while carving out a persona that felt true to New York.
The Approach
We gather inspiration rooted in the city itself: cultural icons, local food, and personal experiences contributed by the team. This pool of references became the foundation for illustrations that felt both authentic and personal.
NYC Office Illustration
NYC-centric Illustrations
From iconic subway trains to the playful myth of sewer alligators, each illustration draws on references instantly recognizable to New Yorkers. The set captures the city’s distinctive character and grounds the work in a distinctly local perspective. Stylistically, the illustrations employ a clean, graphic approach, with bold lines, flat colors, and playful proportions, creating visuals that feel both contemporary and approachable.
International Expansion
To London, Paris, and Mumbai
Following the success of the New York series, the project expanded to include illustrations for CDG’s offices in London, Paris, and Mumbai. Just like in New York, each piece was shaped by input from local team members — those most familiar with the rhythms, icons, and quirks of their own cities. This collaborative process ensured that every illustration authentically reflects the distinctive character and culture of its location, while still maintaining a cohesive visual style across the global set.
